He is depicted as red in color, holding a life vase brimming with the nectar of immortality.Buddha Amitayus is the samboghakaya, "enjoyment body" of Amitabha Buddha who is the "emanation body".He is practiced extensively in Tibetan Buddhism and New Kadampa Tradition.
His short mantra is OM AMARANI ZEWÄNTEYE SÖHA or OM AMARANI JIWANTIYE SWAHA.
