Padma Sambhava (Guru Rimpoche) As prophesied by Lord Buddha in Sutra and Tantra, Guru Ripoche blessed the world with his presence five hundred years after he did. Guru Rimpoche came forth from Amitabha, the immense Buddha of light as an emanation of all the Buddha on the tenth day of the firth month of the Fire Monkey year. As explained in the section on Guru Rimpoche and his eight manifestations, he was extremely active in the propagation of the Dharma, traveling widely to places such as, Dhana- kosh, thogar, Tira huri and Kamarupa. Therefore, when the time was ripe for Buddhism to spread to Tibet, Guru Rimpoche accepted Thrisong Detsen’s invitation to visit there. On his through Nepal to Tibet he subdued many destructive entities, and when he arrived in Tibet he also defeated the evil forces harming the people and obstructing the spread of Buddhism there. Then he entrusted the vanquished forces with protecting the faith, among them, Tenma- Chunni, Goor-Lha Choosum and Ghe- Nen Nyerchik
